Awards & Community Involvement

Malpeque Fine Iron has been the proud & honoured recipient of many awards and community recognitions over the years. We enjoy being active within our community and giving back when we can.

Community Projects

We’ve had the opportunity to work along side many outstanding PEI organizations and groups. A few of our most memorable projects include:

PCH Foundation

Eric and Dianne Schurman founded Malpeque Fine Iron Products in 1998. They worked diligently to grow their business through the years to become an industry leader in ornamental iron and metal fabrication products that are shipped throughout Canada and the United States. Partners in business and in life, they have been married for thirty-two years and have one daughter, Jacklyn.

The Schurmans work full time within their business located on the Barbara Weit Rd, Lower New Annan. Eric is a master in iron works and creativity is abundant when you walk through the many exceptional displays on site. They also excel at their seasonal inventory of holiday displays that light the skies at many locations throughout PEI including many pieces in the dynamic Lights for Life display at the Prince County Hospital. Eric and Dianne have been proud supporters of Lights for Life for many years.

In a further effort to give back to the community that has supported them for many years, Eric and Dianne recently gifted PCH Foundation with $10,000.00 for medical equipment.

“It is a wonderful feeling to be able to give back to our community that has supported us the past 22 years,” says Dianne. “Also, when we support our local hospital, it benefits everyone island-wide.”
